My SIMP Purchases

For a close up... Double click on the photo.

How lucky am I to have a friend who would shop for me at SIMP! These arrived in today's post.

Marie-Laure emailed me lots and lots of photos from the show in Paris of Elizabeth Causeret's work. Once I saw the photos, I emailed her in return and she bought several things for me. I am still amazed by the technology that allows this.

I just love the ginger jars with the crackle finish on them. I have always had a soft spot for those. I also loved Elizabeth's beautiful bowls. These are not all the pieces Marie-Laure sent. I will post those another time.

Once again.... Thank you so much Marie-Laure. http://recreationminiature.blogspot.com/ How very kind of you.

BTW... The telephone is solid brass. The part you speak into can be positioned. It is something I have had for many years.

  2. At this time of night I can only say WOW!
I am recovering from a terrible day (funeral) and return to the reality of small miniatures reassures me and comforts me a little ...
You are very lucky to have a friend, so helpful and French :-)

    RE: Mr. Blogger.

Un-check the box that says... Stay Signed in. That way you won't have to post under anonymous. you will have to sign in every time you go to your dashboard. It might also clear up a few other Blogger related problems for you.

  7. The next-best thing to actually being at SIMP is to have a 'personal shopper'....Marie chose some beautiful items for you.
(I too am a big fan of Elisabeth's work)

  14. When I saw the title of this post I thought I must not have being paying attention as I didn't know you went to Paris! :)

But how nice to have a personal shopper! All of the pieces are great (love that phone!). Like many of us I am also a fan of Elizabeths work, I try to buy something from her at each show I go to.

  15. Greetings Cathrine, you have a beautiful blog. I was directed to your blog by a friend who can't comment. She would like to know how you keep Kilmouski's hair in such great shape :) She has a Russian Siberian named Merlin and needs help with his underfur? Is it a special brush? He is a beauty :)

    Hugs

  16. Hello Victoria,

First let me tell you how your friend can comment here. She can try one of two things. First she can try to un-check the box that says STAY SIGNED IN. That worked for me, though I now have to sign in everytime.
Secondly...She can comment if she chooses the option Anonymous. Then she can simple sign the name she chooses to leave.

As for Kilmouski's coat. I have a wire brush and a collie comb. The metal comb is what really removes the heavy under coat. Most of that coat has been shed now as it is summer. But without the combing it would still be there in a awful matted tangle.

I find it much easier to get the fur off the cat rather then everything else in the house. It also means he has stopped having hair balls.

Thank you for your kind comments about my blog. I hope you and your friend will visit often.

  17. How lucky you are, firstly to have someone with a keen and talented eye shopping for you and secondly to be the new owner of such beautiful miniatures. The crackle on the jars is especially wonderful!

  19. Thank you Catherine. I think Maria see your reply but will tell her. My dog sheds buckets and you are right it is easier to remove it from the animal than everything else :)
